Alkong (the “Service”) complies with the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea (“PIPA”) and other applicable laws. This Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. We will update this Policy as the Service evolves, with notice in the app or on this page.
1. Information We Collect
When you sign up or sign in
- Email address (identifier from Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In)
- Name or nickname
- Profile image (emoji)
While you use the Service
- Relationship details you choose to enter (e.g., the day you started dating, anniversaries)
- Content you create (questions, answers, bucket list items, notes)
- Pairing information with your partner
Collected automatically
- Device information (model, OS version, app version, locale)
- Push notification device token (FCM)
- Usage logs (screen visits, feature usage — aggregated and anonymized)
2. Purposes of Processing
- Account registration, identification, and authentication
- Providing core features (partner pairing, sending and answering questions, notifications)
- Analyzing usage patterns to improve the Service (aggregated, non-identifiable form)
- Compliance with legal obligations
3. Users Under 14
- The Service does not allow users under the age of 14 to register.
- We confirm at sign-up that the user is at least 14 years old. Accounts found to belong to users under 14 will be deleted immediately along with related information.
4. Retention and Use Period
- All personal information is deleted without delay upon account withdrawal.
- Exception: where applicable laws (e.g., the E-Commerce Act of Korea) require retention for a specific period, that period applies.
5. Sharing with Third Parties
We do not share your personal information with third parties, except:
- When you have given prior consent
- When required by law or pursuant to a lawful request by an authority
6. Data Processing Sub-processors
For reliable operation, we entrust limited processing to the following:

- Request that we stop processing your data
- Withdraw consent (effected by deleting your account)

9. Security Measures
- TLS encryption in transit (HTTPS)
- Encryption at rest (Supabase native)
- Least-privilege access controls (Row-Level Security)
10. Cookies and Automatic Identifiers
The Service is a mobile app and does not use web cookies. We do use device identifiers for push notifications and analytics, which can be disabled in your device settings.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy when laws or our practices change. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page at least 7 days before they take effect.
